The ideal word to describe Avid’s Shorty Ultimate brakes is, well, ultimate! They balance power, control and weight. Cross racers around the globe run these for their open design that clears mud quickly, as well as their adjustability, ease of use and solid feel. No mushy, so-so braking here, you great serious grip with feathery modulation in any and all conditions. The adjustability part is an in-line cable adjuster to dial in your power, adjustable pad height and a quick release. Choose from a wide stance for increased mud clearance or narrow for greater power. Plus, the Shorty uses standard road cartridge pads that make changing your pads a snap.
